Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base Review
The Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base is a favourite amongst mineral makeup lovers, and it’s a product that I have entirely used-up and repurchased in the name of science and gathering the best review possible. I had dabbled with Jane Iredale early on in my makeup life. Still, it wasn’t until I was re-doing my aesthetics training for Canada that I had to take a Makeup For Aestheticians class where we used Jane Iredale products as they were safe for post-procedure skin. My classmates had a broad range of skin tones so that we could get a feel for the spectrum of shades in the Jane Iredale Pure Pressed and Amazing Base foundation. However, we realized the deepest shade we had wasn’t quite deep or rich enough for someone who typically wore shade NW55 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid.
The Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base is available in 23 shades (I feel like the shade range was recently expanded), and you get 9.9g of product. The only buying option available on the Jane Iredale website in Canada is to buy the Pure Pressed Refill for $57 and the empty compact for $21. In contrast, in the USA, you can get the foundation and compact together for $57 ($9 savings), or you can purchase the refill ($46) and empty compact ($20), a total of $66. For this review, we will compare the refills of $57 CAD/46 USD for 9.9 grams of products, which breaks down to $5.76 CAD/4.65 USD per gram.
